You may have seen the chatter on social, or noticed yourself in stores: WinCo's bagels have changed. They've recently switched form backed-in-house bagels to shipped in, pre-baked bagels.

I spoke with WinCo this morning and they told me: "WinCo has heard its customers."

I have it on good authority that the company is looking into bringing back the baked-in-house bagels, but they don't have a timeline or details on what a switch would entail yet.

I'd love to start something up that we've done in the past. When you head to the store and save thanks to Stumptown Savings, snap a photo of your receipt showing how much you saved and share it with me!

We are foodies. Spent half our lives mainly restauranting and cooking in Calif bay area then up here since 93, amazed at this generations changing attitude about not cooking and throwing money away by getting 24 dollar hamburgers at food carts. This site is exciting because we like to produce top quality food for as little as possible. After all-what in life is better than eating?

It's starting to shift to cooler fall weather FAST. I'm hoping to get at least one more cook on the smoker before I have to mostly put it away. I've got a tri-tip I'm going to cook low and slow and maybe turn it into some tri-tip sandwiches, like the famous ones from Rip City Grill (RIP).

What are you planning to cook this week?

I took the survey today. I wish there had been a spot for comments, but I understand that makes data analysis difficult. I know Trader Joe's doesn't really have sales, but they feature lots of rotating and seasonal products, and it is a store I include in my shopping rotation. For me personally, most of my shopping is at Fred Meyer, and I sprinkle in other spots based on specific items/sales/coupons. I wish I had a more convenient WinCo location as I prefer them to Fred Meyer, but they are just far enough away that it isn't as convenient for me or worth the savings. That may change as grocery prices continue rising though...
