The longer story: I’m Bryan, the founder, publisher, and sole employee of Stumptown Savings. On the morning of March 27, 2025, I was laid off from my job in local journalism. That’s when it hit me: I could use my journalistic skills to help my entire community save money. Stumptown Savings was born from that necessity.

My mission is to help you spend less on groceries while connecting you with our region's amazing local food producers. From the Egg Price Tracker to in-depth guides on mastering stores like WinCo, I’m building a community that’s fighting back against rising food costs from Salem to Vancouver. As Axios Portland noted, this work is having a real impact on family budgets.
